Produced in Montelupo, Italy, during the late 1950s or early 1960s, this large pitcher/vase is part of the highly sought-after "Africa" series. It is a centerpiece for any MCM, Bitossi, or Italian pottery collection. Design Features: Texture: It features the signature textured "volcanic" terracotta body, a hallmark of the Fanciullacci brothers' experimentation with raw materials. Artistry: Decorated with beautiful hand-painted relief figures depicting a traditional scene. Contrast: Features the classic contrast of the matte, earthy body against the glossy white glaze on the handle and rim. Additionally, a small flake is missing from the edge of the spout, where the white glaze meets the terracotta. No structural cracks or restorations were found.
