This single-flower vase (ichirin-ike) presents a teardrop-shaped body rising into an elongated, slender neck. The form tapers continuously toward a narrow mouth, designed to hold a single stem. The surface is smooth and finished in a dark brown tone, with a quiet, even patina across the bronze. Referred to as kodo (胡銅) in the accompanying materials, the alloy reflects a traditional classification of refined bronze. The vessel is unadorned, with no applied decoration, relying on its proportion and silhouette. It is accompanied by its original wooden box (tomobako), inscribed on the lid with “Kodo Ichirin-ike” (胡銅 一輪生) and the artist’s name “Gado” (雅堂).
