The top is covered with fine blue arabesque scrolls (karakusa), arranged densely across the surface and centered on a small circular aperture for airflow. The precision of this pattern contrasts with the more open scenes that appear along the sides. Each panel presents elements of a desert landscape: a mosque with a turquoise-colored dome and minaret, palm trees, a crescent moon, and a camel moving across sand dunes. These motifs are distributed across the faces of the vessel, shifting gently as the piece is turned in the hand. The base is signed by the artist.
