This lot features a charming miniature Japanese koto (琴, Koto) with 13 strings, crafted as a decorative or souvenir item in the Showa period. The instrument is made of wood with traditional-style stringing and includes movable white bridges (ji). Decorative textile accents with traditional Japanese patterns are applied at both ends, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. The underside is finished in black lacquer-style coating. Please note that three of the white bridges (string holders) are missing, and therefore the instrument is not suitable for proper musical performance. While it does produce sound, it is recommended primarily as a decorative or display item. The item comes with its original red patterned storage box, which shows some wear consistent with age. Overall condition is fair, with minor signs of age, wear, and small imperfections. A lovely collectible piece representing traditional Japanese musical culture.
