Großes Fossil eines Parareptils in einer Knolle - Fossile Sterblichkeitsplatte - Barasaurus besairiei - 20.3 cm - 18 cm
A beautifully preserved positive/negative nodule containing the remains of Barasaurus, an extinct genus of owenettid procolophonoid parareptiles. Dating from the Late Permian to Early Triassic of Madagascar, this specimen carries immense scientific importance for understanding reptile evolution during a critical transitional period in Earth’s history.
The fossil displays remarkable anatomical detail, with excellent preservation of the ribcage, pelvis, limbs, and vertebral column. Both halves of the nodule (positive and negative) reveal a finely detailed mirror image, allowing the complete form of the animal to be appreciated.
Expertly prepared and carefully stabilized, this specimen ensures both scientific study and long-term preservation. Its clarity and completeness make it not only a valuable research specimen but also a striking display piece.
A true piece of paleontological history—ideal for advanced collectors, museum collections, or academic reference.
