Labeled Soffritti Ettore - 4/4 - - Violine - Unbekannt

A fine master full-size (4/4) violin, bearing the label: “SOFFRITTI ETTORE, Premiato con Gran Medaglia d’oro all’Esposizione Internazionale di Bruxelles, fece in Ferrara l’anno 1923.” This instrument is preserved in good overall condition and remains fully playable. It shows only two small cracks near the A-peg hole, both of which have been professionally repaired and are stable. The violin has been recently fitted with new ebony pegs and new strings, and it retains an old quality Aubert bridge, contributing to its reliable setup and performance. The materials used are of very fine quality: the back is made from two pieces of irregularly flamed maple, beautifully matched with the ribs, neck, and scroll. The top is crafted from straight, high-grained spruce, indicating careful selection of tonewood. The violin is finished in a rich golden-amber varnish, which remains in good condition and enhances the natural beauty and character of the instrument. Measurements are as follows: total length 593 mm; body length 359 mm; upper bout 169 mm; middle bout 112 mm; lower bout 205 mm. Tonally, the violin offers a warm, rich, and well-rounded sound, with good projection and clarity across all registers, making it suitable for both advanced players and demanding repertoire. For any further questions, please feel free to get in touch. Violins and bows described as 'certified' or 'attributed' include images of their certificates and are therefore considered to have a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin, and age than instruments described only as 'labelled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we provide no guarantee of any kind
