Artist Profile Osamu Suzuki （鈴木治）(1926–2001) was a co-founder of Sodeisha (走泥社) in 1948, the groundbreaking ceramics group that rejected the decorative traditions of Japanese pottery in favour of sculptural, expressive form. He exhibited internationally from 1950, including in Paris, Florence, New York, and Montreal, and received the Japan Ceramics Society Award in 1961. His works have been shown at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, and in major international ceramics exhibitions across Europe and North America.
