Tokuda Yasokichi III 1933 Born in Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture 1953 Studied Kutani ware overglazes under the first Yasokichi and mastered modern ceramics under his father, the second Yasokichi 1967 Inspired by his experience planning the Kokutani Antique Ceramics Exhibition, which showcased works from Kokutani, Yoshidaya, and Aoya, he began researching Kokutani and continued to innovate ways to bring the beauty of Aote Kokutani glazes to modern times 1971 His first work, "Colored Glazed Bowl," was exhibited at the 18th Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition, winning the Excellence Award and the NHK Chairman's Award 1977 His work, "Yosai Bowl," was exhibited at the 24th Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition, winning the Grand Prize Awarded the Japan Crafts Council President's Award 1988 Took the name of Yasokichi III 1990 Won the Grand Prix at the 1990 International Ceramic Art Exhibition 1991 Received the Grand Prix and Chichibunomiya Cup Award at the 11th Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition for his recommended work "Sousei" Received the Foreign Minister's Commendation 1993 Received the Medal with Purple Ribbon 1997 Received the Grand Prize at the 10th MOA Okada Award Recognized as a Holder of Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure) 1998 "Yosai Line Design Vase" now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art 2003 Held the Yosai Exhibition in Tokyo and Ishikawa to commemorate his 70th birthday 2009 Died on August 26 at the age of 75 With original inscribed tomobako.
