Burmesischer Bernstein (Burmit) - Bernstein - Burmese Amber Pieces with Insect Inclusions (Myanmar) (Ohne mindestpreis)
A fascinating lot of five pieces of Burmese amber, each containing natural insect inclusions exceptionally preserved in translucent golden resin.
These specimens originate from Myanmar and are attributed to the famous Hukawng Valley deposits, renowned worldwide for producing some of the oldest and most scientifically significant amber. Dating back to the Cretaceous period (approximately 99 million years ago), this amber offers a rare glimpse into prehistoric ecosystems.
The pieces display a warm spectrum from light honey-yellow to deeper cognac tones, with good transparency that allows clear observation of the inclusions. The preserved insects include small flies, beetle-like specimens, and other arthropods, some showing fine structural details such as wings, legs, and body segmentation.
