Made as a wearable armour set, it is also a striking collector’s display piece for a room, studio, dojo, office, or collection space. The set includes the helmet with bold brass front crest and circular sun disc, face mask with moustache, chest armour, arm guards, thigh guards, shin guards, padded waist cord, and armour storage box. (Display stand is not included.) The helmet is fitted with a commanding brass crest, while the face mask has a fierce expression designed to project strength and authority. The armour is decorated with soft tones of cream, brown, peach, green, and black lacing, giving it a refined and aged appearance. The patterned fabric used on the armour adds visual depth, while the metal fittings and layered construction create a strong traditional impression. A particularly notable feature is the use of the traditional “Shōhei-gawa” pattern bearing the inscription “正平六年六月一日” (1st day of the 6th month, Shōhei 6 – 1351). This historic pattern has long been associated with classical samurai armour and has been faithfully reproduced here in a traditional manner, contributing to the authentic appearance and craftsmanship of the set. The armour comes with its black storage box marked with the gold character “Mae” (前). This character represents the Buddhist deity Marishiten, the Goddess of Victory and Protection. It signifies that the deity is always standing “in front” of the warrior to protect them and lead them to victory, giving the armour strong spiritual and martial symbolism. The armour is in fair to good vintage condition overall. There are signs of age and use, including rubbing, stains, soiling, fabric fading, loose threads, fraying, scratches, minor lacquer chips, patina, verdigris, and minor rust on some metal fittings. The inside fabric and some textile areas show wear and tears, and the armour box also has scratches, scuffs, stains, and small chips. Please refer to the photos for details. Dimensions of Chest: approx. H 41.5 cm W 42 cm D 52 cm Height when Displayed: approx. 162 cm ・Please make sure to review all the provided information and images before placing your bid. ・We make every effort to accurately represent the product's colors and textures in our photos.
