A beautiful tall wooden kimono’ishô’dansu 着物衣装箪笥 (cabinet of drawers for kimono) in three sections.
It is made of indigenous kiri (paulownia) wood varnished in a sought after warm brown hue, a colour that we like to call ‘golden oak’.
The upper part configured with a pair of sliding doors with rectangular polymer thumb grips with a recess shaped like a mokkô (melon). Underneath these, three adjacent drawers.
The middle and bottom section with two full-width drawers. The lowest section attached to a plinth.
The smooth-running drawers are fitted with slender patinated copper ‘warabite’-shaped bail handles, paired with circular lock-plates. The sides with retractable “pole carrying”-handles for easy transport and locking the upper parts into place.
The cabinet is very spacious and ideal for easy storage due to the many different type of compartments.
Period: Japan – Shôwa period (1926-1989).

Height 157.1 cm (T 45.8 cm, M 51.5 cm, B 59.8 cm), Width 93.4 cm, Depth 41.9 cm.
The kimono cabinet is in a very good restored condition with minimal signs of wear conform age. No keys included. Please look at the photos for a condition reference.
