A huge, large late 19th century cast and patinated spelter allegory of " L'HARMONIE" ( The Harmonie), the lady and a boy standing on a marble base for a height of 64.5 cm, wide of 25 cm and weight of 11 kg. Base 22.4 cm
Signed to the reverse under the sculptor's name " Hip Moreau", and also the stamp of "FABRICATION FRANCAISE- MADE IN FRANCE, PARIS" .
The Sculpture is in very good condition with some traces of aging.

Hippolyte François Moreau (1832-1927) was the second son of the sculptor Jean-Baptiste Moreau (1797-1855) and trained in his father's studio in Dijon. With his brothers Mathurin and Auguste, he moved to Paris to continue his studies with François Jouffroy at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts, exhibiting for the first time at the Salon des artistes français in 1863 and continuing to exhibit there until 1914. He won medals for his work at the Universal Exhibitions of 1878 and 1900. Most of his works are kept at the Dijon Museum of Fine Arts.
