A refined four-piece bronze tea ceremony set 茶会具 (chakaigu) of traditional form, finished in an attractive dark brown patina subtly graduating to warm brass-golden tones.
The set comprises a mizusashi 水指 (fresh water container) with matching lid, a kensui 建水 (waste water bowl), a futaoki 蓋置 (lid rest), and a shakutate 杓立 (ladle stand), intended for use with a daisu 台子 or naga’ita 長板 tea ceremony display.
The bronze mizusashi is of rounded form with straight sides and fitted with two demon-mask handles suspending movable rings beneath the shoulder. The body is encircled by raised bands above and below the handles. The accompanying utensils are executed in matching form and patina.
Complete with the original signed and sealed tomobako 共箱 (storage box).
Period: Japan – Shôwa period (1926-1989)

Mizusashi: Height 20.5 cm, Width 24.5 cm, Depth 18,5 cm.
Kensui height 8.8 cm, Futaoki height 4.5 cm, Shakutate height 17.5 cm.
In very good condition with only minor traces of age and handling. Please refer to the photographs for a clear condition reference.
