Extra-illustrated with 10 additional portrait plates from the Chapman & Hall series by the same artist!!!!!! First edition, first issue with all the first issue points present....The following are some of the first issue points that are present: In the title-page vignette, Capt. Cuttle's hook is erroneously on his left arm; p.xv, no page entry for the frontispiece and vignette, and no quotation marks around "the Party" line 2; p.14, ten lines up, "aint" has no apostrophe; p.26, line 11 has "fidgetty"; on p.40, l.16-17 "shewed" and "shew" instead of "showed" and "show"; p.284, fifth and sixth lines from the bottom, "Delight" instead of "Joy"; p.324, p.582, the last line has no full stop and has the dark plate opposite page 547. Book in overall fair condition... externally half leather with wear around edges and corners, shelfwear, wear head of spine, stains on boards, marbled edges and endpapers. Inside text with light stains but overall clean and complete. Plates as usual a bit darkened and stained but overall fair, some offsetting of plates on adiacent page. Scarce
