The width of the upper bouts: 169 mm; middle bouts: 114 mm; lower bouts: 208 mm. The violin has two pieces back made from strongly flamed maple with matched sides, neck and scroll; the table is likewise matching of high quality, straight, high grained spruce. The purfling has been painstakingly inlaid front and back. Original golden amber varnish remains in excellent condition. The violin is ready to play with good ebony and rosewood fittings and new strings. There are two small, professionally repaired cracks on top.
