Description

This lot consists of a set of five traditional Japanese fūchin (hanging scroll weights).

Fūchin are traditional decorative objects used to stabilize hanging scrolls, while also serving as elegant ornaments for tea rooms and Japanese-style interiors.

The set includes ceramic fūchin, including Kutani ware examples, as well as a unique wooden fūchin inspired by the form of an inrō.

Each piece reflects a different aspect of Japanese aesthetics, including Akae overglaze decoration with gold accents, aotsubu-style patterns, openwork celadon-style decoration, deep brown glaze tones, and an inrō-shaped wooden design. The set can also be enjoyed as a comparative collection showcasing different decorative styles and materials.

Some pieces display colorful Kutani-style enamel decoration and gilding, expressing the refined ornamental beauty characteristic of Japanese ceramics.

Suitable not only for hanging scroll use, but also for Japanese-style interior decoration, tea ceremony related display, and collection purposes.
