He trained at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid and in engraving techniques at Dimitri Papageorgiu's workshop. In 1981, he co-founded the iconic Taller Mayor 28, a creative space that brought together key figures in Spanish contemporary art. He made his debut in 1972 at the Antonio Machado bookshop in Madrid, and since then he has maintained a constant presence in galleries such as Esti_Arte, Fefa Seiquer, Juana Mordó and Max Estrella. With humour and virtuosity, his work fuses classic images from art history with ironic nods, composing dense compositions that invite detailed viewing. He has received prestigious scholarships, including one in Oslo and another in Rome, and has taught as a visiting professor at institutions such as the University of Austin, consolidating his international training and reputation. His exhibitions and fairs span four continents, and his style displays an ironic mix of references, from pop art to comics and postmodern aesthetics. His work in engraving has been recognised with awards such as the Gold Medal at the Cairo and Alexandria Biennials and the National Graphic Art Award in 2008. His travel journals and creative rhythm — three months of painting, three of sculpture, three of engraving — reflect a vital process connected with humour and aesthetic exploration.
