Shigaraki-Steinzeug globuläre Blumenvase mit originaler Holzkiste — Wabi-Sabi Studio Pottery, Japan - Steinzeug - Japan - 1900–2000

Item Description A fine Shigaraki-ware flower vase by an unknown artist, crafted within the Shigaraki tradition of Shiga Prefecture — one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns, with a ceramic history stretching back to the 13th century. The vase presents a full, generous globular form with a small, everted rim and a beautifully weighted body that commands quiet presence. The entire surface is enveloped in a dramatically textured, foam-like white glaze that gives the piece an almost lunar quality. Sweeping diagonally across the shoulder is a dynamic brushed band in amber, teal-green, and dark iron pigment, evoking the spontaneous energy of a mountain landscape or a cresting wave. The contrast between the densely textured white ground and the loose, gestural brushwork creates a striking visual tension that is at once meditative and bold — a fine embodiment of the wabi-sabi spirit central to the Shigaraki tradition. The underside reveals a clean, unglazed foot ring with a faint impressed seal, confirming this as a signed artist's work. The piece is accompanied by its original fitted wooden storage box (共箱, tomobako), attesting to its artistic provenance. An exceptional display piece, equally suited to ikebana flower arrangement or as a collector's centrepiece. Size Height: 19 cm Width: 21 cm Depth: 21 cm Weight 2,219 g Condition In good used condition with light surface wear and minor age-related marks consistent with storage; no cracks, chips, or repairs detected. The wooden box shows light handling marks. NOTICE: The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post, DHL or FedEx depend on the situation. It takes about 3 weeks to receive normally. Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Sometimes Customes or delivery company in your country contact you for Customs clearance via phone or email. Please make sure that you could answer the phone. If you don't, the parcel will return to me and it cost more double shipping fee for reshipping. I appreciate your cooperation.
