Eisen (geschmiedet) - Symbol der Langlebigkeit, der Feier und des Glücks Äußerst realistisches großes Hummer-Ornament - Shōwa Zeit (1926-1989)

This is a highly realistic sculpture of an Ise Ebi 伊勢海老 (Japanese spiny lobster), made in Japan. I believe it dates from the early Showa era. The sculpture is so detailed and lifelike that at first glance it almost appears to be a real lobster. The long antennae, sharp legs, segmented body, textured shell, and tail are all expressed with remarkable realism and presence. Because rust can be seen on the each parts, the material is believed to be iron. The aged texture and natural patina create a powerful atmosphere that enhances the realism of the piece even further. One of the most impressive aspects of this work is its large size. At approximately 61 cm in width and weighing about 2900 g, it has an overwhelming presence as a decorative object. The detailed craftsmanship is especially visible in: The realistically textured shell The sharp and delicate legs The powerful curved antennae The natural posture and movement The impressive size and weight In Japan, Ise Ebi has long been regarded as a symbol of longevity, celebration, and good fortune. Because of its curved shape resembling the bent back of an elderly person, it is associated with long life and prosperity, and it is often used in auspicious decorations and traditional celebrations. This sculpture has a strong artistic presence and would display beautifully in a Japanese interior, restaurant, gallery, tea room, or antique collection. I have rarely seen an Ise Ebi sculpture of this size with such realistic craftsmanship and atmosphere. It is an eye-catching and memorable work that immediately stands out in any collection. This is an excellent item for collectors of Japanese antiques, marine-themed art, folk crafts, or unusual Japanese okimono sculptures. Height 31.3 cm Width 61.0 cm Depth 19.4 cm Weight 2900 g Condition: The condition is generally good. There is rust throughout. As it is a used item, there are scratches, dirt, peeling, scuffs, and dents. It has been stored at home. Please check the numerous photos provided. Atention: The items listed for sale are all used collectibles.
