Seltenes Celadon-Rissglasur-Dreibein-Räuchergefäß, handgeschnitzte, schwebende Ringgriffe, - Japan - Shōwa Zeit (1926-1989)

This magnificent vintage incense censer draws its artistic inspiration from classic Korean Goryeo celadon ceramics, a revered ancient porcelain tradition famous for its soft pale green glaze and delicate crackle textures. Every decorative element on this burner is fully hand-sculpted and hand-finished, making it a one-of-a-kind art piece for incense and Asian art collectors. The vessel stands on three elegant curved tripod feet, with a pair of elaborate hand-moulded peacock-pattern handles fitted with freely floating movable rings — a highly complex sculptural technique that demands skilled craftsmanship, rarely reproduced in mass-produced decorative ceramics. The main body is coated in a smooth pale celadon glaze covered in natural all-over crackle crazing, a sought-after aged texture formed during controlled cooling in the kiln. Soft underglaze hand-painted white floral blossoms decorate both sides of the main chamber, adding subtle traditional botanical detail. Its matching lid adopts a distinctive double-gourd form, fully pierced with large diamond ventilation cutouts to allow incense smoke to flow freely. A tiny hand-sculpted flower bud sits as a finial on the lid’s apex, perfectly matching the floral painting on the body. The lid fits tightly onto the censer’s rim, forming a seamless whole when assembled. The entire incense burner is preserved in flawless intact condition, with no chips, cracks, repairs or glaze loss. Vintage celadon-style sculpted censers with functional floating ring handles and complete pierced gourd lids are extremely hard to source on international auction platforms. Most comparable antique-style incense wares suffer from glaze damage, broken rings or missing lid pieces, while this example retains all original sculpted components and full vibrant crackle glaze. This piece is ideal for burning stick, cone or resin incense, and serves as a standout decorative centrepiece for Asian antique collections, tea rooms, meditation spaces and traditional interior displays. A rare opportunity to acquire a fully intact hand-sculpted celadon incense burner with intricate traditional East Asian detailing.
