Description A substantial mixed lot of traditional Japanese textile and devotional items, comprising 20 obijime kimono cords together with a set of Buddhist prayer bead strands (juzu / nenju). Obijime (20 cords): The obijime are the decorative braided cords tied over the obi sash to secure and accent a kimono ensemble. Each is hand-braided in the traditional kumihimo technique, a centuries-old Japanese craft producing intricate flat and round silk braids. The selection spans a wide and attractive colour range — soft pink, grey, beige, lime green, magenta, gold-and-cream, vermilion red, coral, and muted dusty tones — with several featuring metallic gold thread accents and decorative tasselled ends, suiting coordination with many kimono and obi combinations. Juzu / Nenju (prayer bead strands): The accompanying juzu are the rosary-type bead strings used in Japanese Buddhist devotion.
