Byōbu-Faltschirm - Echte Silberblatt-Folienprägung - Japan - Meiji Periode (1868-1912) - Paar Byobu mit Blattsilber

Genuine Silver Leaf Foil Stamping Paired Six Panels Folding Screens Byobu Room Dividers A refined pair of Japanese six-panel folding screens (Byōbu), executed with genuine silver leaf foil stamping and believed to date from the Meiji to Taishō period (late 19th to early 20th century). The authentic silver leaf has naturally matured over more than a century, developing soft gradations of silver-grey, ivory, and warm champagne tones through oxidation. These subtle tonal variations and traces of age give the screens a quiet elegance that cannot be replicated by modern production. As light changes throughout the day, the surface responds with gentle reflections and atmospheric depth. Originally intended for refined interiors such as reception rooms and tea spaces, these screens embody the Japanese appreciation of simplicity, craftsmanship, and the beauty of natural aging. Increasingly scarce in complete paired form, this set offers an authentic and timeless example of traditional silver-leaf Byōbu. Six panels dimensions: 148" W x 67.7" H / 376cm x 172cm One panel dimensions: 25.1" W x 67.7" H / 64cm x 172cm Material: Silver Leaf Foil Stamping Weight: 26.9kg Condition Antique items have originally crease, stain, damage, and more.
