Die Handwerkskunst in der Mode – präsentiert von {name}

Jennifer Lumbroso

The Louis Vuitton Alma is among the most enduring and universally recognised designs in the history of luxury accessories. First introduced in 1934 and named in honour of the Avenue de l'Alma in Paris, it has since become one of the French maison's most consistently produced and collected silhouettes — a bag that carries more than nine decades of design authority within its distinctive domed form.
This example is constructed in Louis Vuitton's signature Monogram canvas: the coated PVC fabric bearing the repeating LV initials, quatre fleurs, and fleurs de lys motif in warm brown and tan — a pattern registered in 1896 and among the most instantly recognisable in global luxury culture. The canvas is structured over a rigid frame, maintaining the Alma's clean domed silhouette and flat base. Natural vachetta cowhide leather in honey-toned patina frames the top edge, base panel, and handle tabs, demonstrating the characteristic aging that is intrinsic to vachetta and valued by collectors of pre-owned Vuitton as an indicator of authentic use and history. Two rounded vachetta handles attach via polished gold-tone D-ring hardware with yellow saddle-stitch leather tabs. A full-length brass zip closure with an LV-engraved pull runs across the top. The interior is lined in Louis Vuitton's signature brown toile fabric with a zip pocket and an open flat pocket. The date code BA1907 — indicating production in France — is stamped on a leather tab inside the bag.
The Alma PM dimensions provide excellent everyday carrying capacity, accommodating daily essentials with ease within the bag's structured frame. The Monogram canvas and vachetta combination remains the most collected configuration of this model across the global pre-owned luxury market.

Founded in Paris in 1854, Louis Vuitton has produced its Monogram canvas continuously since 1896 — making it one of the longest-running luxury textile designs in history. The Alma remains among the house's most sought-after pre-owned models, commanding consistent bidder interest across European, American, and Asian auction platforms.
