An Exceptional and Deeply Symbolic Indian Bronze Ritual Relief/Altar Plating dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati

This heavy, solid bronze (or high-quality brass alloy) relief is a magnificent example of 20th-century Hindu devotional and tantric art, purchased in the high-altitude Himalayan region of Ladakh in 1997.
Iconography & Features (Front):
Shiva & Parvati: The front beautifully depicts the detailed faces of Lord Shiva (recognizable by his third eye and the crescent moon in his hair) and his consort Parvati (Shakti).
Shiva Lingam & Trishula: At the lower center sits a Shiva Lingam marked with the traditional Tripundra (three horizontal lines), from which Shivas divine trident (Trishula) ascends, separating the divine couple.
The Sacred Cobra (Naga): Crowning the piece is a large, protective rearing cobra with an engraved Tilaka on its hood, symbolizing mastery over fear and time.
Sacred Symbols: The background features early scriptural engravings, including the sacred Om (ॐ) symbol.
Tantric Geometry & Inscriptions (Reverse):
The back of the plate is fully decorated for meditative or ritualistic (Tantra) purposes:
Shiva/Sri Yantra: A striking central sacred mandala composed of interlocking triangles with an "Om" symbol at its core.
Swastikas: Flanking the center are two traditional Hindu Swastikas, representing harmony, auspiciousness, and cosmic order.
Sanskrit Inscription: A beautifully arched Devanagari script engraving. The right side features a famous verse from the Bhagavad Gita (Chapter 2, Verse 17): "Avinashi tu taddviddhi..." ("Know that which pervades the entire body is indestructible...").
Provenance & Condition:
An absolute highlight for collectors is the original dealer sticker still attached to the back, documenting its exact purchase history: Bought on August 1st, 1997, in Leh (the capital of Ladakh, India) for 200 German Marks (DM). This serves as an excellent guarantee of age and origin. The piece is in excellent vintage condition with a beautiful, rich dark-brown patina and minor, natural signs of age
