Byōbu-Faltschirm - Papier, Holz, Ein zweigeteilter Paravent, der einen Adler auf einer Kiefer zeigt. - Japan
A two-panel screen painted on silk with a gold ground, depicting a white eagle perched on the branch of an ancient pine tree executed in ink.
The eagle, a symbol of strength, vigilance, and nobility, is shown alert among the twisting branches of the pine (matsu), itself an emblem of longevity and steadfastness in Japanese culture.
Signature and seal in the lower left corner.
A wooden frame completes and protects the piece.
The screen can also be easily mounted on a wall or used as a room divider.
Byōbu (屏風), literally “wind protection screens,” are traditional Japanese folding screens originally created to divide spaces and today appreciated above all as striking wall-mounted paintings.
---The byobu is in good condition, with restorations and stains. Please refer to the pictures for further details.
The item will be carefully packed and shipped accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity issued by Mastromauro Japanese art gallery based in Milan, Italy.
