Geometrische Nerikomi-Steinzeugvase — faszinierend marmorierter Ton in markanter Sanduhrform - Steinzeug - Japan - 1900–2000

Item Description This is a striking stoneware vase crafted using the traditional Japanese nerikomi (marbled clay) technique, in which clays of different colors are layered, kneaded, and shaped to create mesmerizing swirling patterns throughout the body. The naturally flowing marbled design in warm beige and earthy brown tones runs seamlessly across every facet of the surface, revealing the artist's exceptional mastery of this labor-intensive technique. The vase features a distinctive decagonal (ten-sided) geometric form — a broad, rounded base that dramatically narrows into a slender hourglass waist before flaring gently into a straight-sided octagonal neck. This bold architectural silhouette, combined with the organic fluidity of the marbled clay, creates a compelling tension between the geometric and the natural. The interior of the neck is finished with a subtle celadon-toned glaze, while the exterior remains unglazed, allowing the full texture and pattern of the nerikomi clay to take center stage. A fine example of contemporary Japanese studio ceramics, this vase would serve as both a functional flower vessel and a sculptural object of great aesthetic presence. The maker of this work is unknown, but the technical sophistication and confident form strongly suggest the hand of a skilled ceramic artist. Size Height: 16.5 cm Width: 7 cm Depth: 7 cm Weight 280 g Condition The vase is in good overall condition with no cracks or chips; minor surface marks consistent with age and use are present on the exterior. NOTICE: The lot will be carefully packaged and sent by Japan Post, DHL or FedEx depend on the situation. It takes about 3 weeks to receive normally. Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Sometimes Customes or delivery company in your country contact you for Customs clearance via phone or email. Please make sure that you could answer the phone.
