DESCRIPTION

This is a Japanese chisel "鑿 Nomi". Unlike Western chisels, which are double-edged, Japanese chisels are single-edged. Japanese steel, popular for use in katana and kitchen knives, features prominently in Japanese chisels, with the characteristic that the blades last a long time if properly sharpened.

There are signs of wear, rust, and damage due to age and use. Please check the photos for details.
