Vintage-japanischer Hanfstoff 'Jofu' - authentisch Indigo gefärbtes 'Kasuri' - 278 cm Traditionelles - Leinen - Japan - Meiji Periode (1868-1912)

An exquisite piece of Japanese textile history: an authentic, hand-woven, indigo-dyed hemp "Jofu" fabric, featuring a traditional geometric Kasuri (ikat) pattern. This piece dates from the Meiji to early Taishō period, showcasing the rustic beauty of traditional Japanese craft. This textile features the deep, soulful blues of natural indigo (Aizome) and an intricate, repetitive geometric pattern meticulously woven using traditional techniques. The coarse, breathable texture and visible thread variations (nep) are hallmarks of authentic hand-loomed hemp, a material highly prized by textile collectors for its durability and artistic value. Regarding condition, please note that as an antique textile, it bears signs of its long history. There are some stains and a notable hole/tear as documented in the attached photographs. These imperfections are characteristic of genuine "Jidai-mono" (antique fabric) and are often valued by collectors as evidence of its authentic heritage. This piece is an excellent candidate for art projects, premium interior styling, or kimono remaking, where its history can be celebrated in new forms. Dimensions (in cm) Length: Approx. 278 cm Width: Approx. 35 cm Weight (in grams) Approx. 150g Shipping method Shipped from Japan via tracked international courier (such as Japan Post EMS, DHL, or FedEx).
