Marked "J SOLA 90" The Sugar Spoon is explicitly engraved with the years 1948–1973. This 25-year milestone commemorates the silver jubilee of Queen Juliana of the Netherlands, who ascended to the Dutch throne in September 1948 and reigned through 1973. The handle tip is styled into an ornate crown framing the initial "J" for Queen Juliana. This specific souvenir pattern was produced for KLM by the premium Dutch silverware company Sola (known as the Sola 100 silver-plated series). It was distributed onboard as a commemorative luxury souvenir for premium-class travelers during the jubilee year.
