Shugoro Hasuda - Modernist Fine Bronze Flower Vase - Cultural Merit Award Winner - Signed - 20cm
【DESCRIPTION】
A magnificent and deeply elegant modern cast bronze flower vase (Kabin/Haki), masterfully designed by Shugoro Hasuda (1915–2010), one of the most prominent, internationally acclaimed pioneers of postwar Japanese metalwork artistry and a recipient of the prestigious Order of Culture (文化勲章).
Hasuda revolutionized traditional Japanese metal casting by infusing it with architectural, abstract, and modernist sculptural sensibilities. This striking piece beautifully showcases his signature aesthetic: a bold, spherical lower body balanced by a refined, elongated neck, accentuated by a series of precise, horizontally incised graphic stripe lines around the center. The vase is finished in a rich, deeply textured turquoise-green patina that reflects his absolute mastery over metal coloration and patination techniques.
The bottom of the vase is incised with the artist's authentic signature. This exceptional object serves as a superb investment and decorative piece, bringing a touch of high-end mid-century Japanese modernist art and sophisticated presence to any fine art collection or interior design.
