This guinomi is glazed in a dramatic *yōhen tenmoku* (kiln-transformed temmoku), where deep midnight tones erupt into a constellation of blue and pale gold speckles across the surface. The transformation captured in the firing gives each piece an unrepeatable character, and the contrast between the lustrous glaze and the bare, sandy foot reveals the maker's command of his materials.
