This authentic Japanese cast iron chagama (tea kettle) by Bunshudo (文秀堂) is a fine example of traditional Japanese tea ceremony craftsmanship.
The kettle features the Bunshudo maker's mark on the base and comes with its original cast iron gotoku (trivet). Its rich patina and natural texture reflect years of careful use, giving the piece a distinguished character appreciated by collectors of Japanese tea utensils.
The interior shows surface rust and traces of ash from previous use, which are consistent with its age and intended purpose. No cracks or structural repairs were observed. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the description.
A beautiful and authentic piece suitable for tea ceremony enthusiasts, collectors of Japanese antiques, or as an elegant decorative object.
