The composition depicts dramatic theatrical characters—a fierce samurai/warrior and a youth in full armor—strongly inspired by traditional Kabuki theater iconography. The expressive hand-painted faces (gofun finish), elaborate hair extensions, and textile patterns detailed with metallic gold threads (Kinran) evoke a powerful sense of dynamism.
