The upper section features smooth-sliding glass doors enclosing an asymmetrical arrangement of shelves known as Chigaidana (staggered shelves), a classic feature of Japanese architectural aesthetics. It includes a specialized deep tray/compartment, built-in mini-drawers, and small sliding doors designed originally for storing tea utensils, ceramics, or incense. The lower half offers ample functional storage with four sliding panels and three wider drawers at the base, all fitted with elegant, patinated iron handles.
