The luminous material on the hands has aged and darkened appropriately, while their black inserts remain fully intact.
Case and Crystal
The stainless steel case features a classic monocoque, front-loading design. It remains in honest vintage condition with normal signs of use, showing light surface scratches and minor handling marks consistent with age and normal wear. The lugs retain good definition, transitioning smoothly into the case profile. The crystal is fitted directly to the case without a distinct external bezel, creating a sleek and uninterrupted visual line. On the reverse, the caseback displays a crisp and clearly legible hippocampus medallion and engravings. The watch is fitted with a clearly signed Omega crown, exhibiting well-defined knurling with only minor wear. A domed acrylic crystal protects the dial, remaining clear with no major deep scratches or cracks visible, showing only minor superficial wear consistent with normal use.

The hands exhibit noticeable oxidation and pitting. Supported by the recorded timegrapher result, the movement is performing very strongly.

Remarks
This Seamaster De Ville offers a superb vintage wearing experience. The remarkably clean silver sunburst dial provides a striking visual presence on the wrist, while the sharply preserved caseback medallion speaks to the careful preservation of the case. Combined with strong mechanical performance, it is a highly capable and elegant timepiece.
History
During the 1960s, Omega introduced the Seamaster De Ville as a refined extension of their highly successful Seamaster line. The collection was designed to merge the robust engineering of a sports watch with the elegant aesthetics of a traditional dress watch. Utilizing a solid monocoque case design, the De Ville offered enhanced structural integrity while maintaining a remarkably slim and refined profile. This distinct combination of utility and formal design language made the Seamaster De Ville a defining model of mid-century watchmaking, appreciated by enthusiasts for its enduring style and practical proportions.
