In 1979, upon meeting the artist Óscar Alves, he took his first steps into the world of sculpture, experimenting with clay modelling. A year later, he held his debut exhibition in Santarém at the Espaço da Holanda. Since then, he has showcased his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Notable highlights include: 1981, Palácio Galveias, Lisbon; 1983, Espaço EDP, Lisbon; 1988, the sculpture (trophy) for the International Festival 'Audiovisual Lisboa 88', sponsored by the Portuguese Cinema Federation; 1993, Padrão dos Descobrimentos, Lisbon; 1993, La Cabala, Madrid; 1997, the 'Troféu Nova Gente' for Nova Gente magazine; 1997, Estampa 97, Madrid; 2000, Patriarcal, Lisbon; 2000, Amadeu Sousa Cardoso Museum, Amarante; and 2000, the sculpture 'Guitarra na Proa' ('Guitar at the Prow'), a tribute to Fado, Amália Rodrigues, and the city of Lisbon. His work is held in prestigious private collections across the globe, including Spain, France, England, the USA, Brazil, and Libya. On the strength of his distinguished career, he was nominated to the World Association of Ceramic Artists, based in Geneva, Switzerland. In 2011, he published a volume combining his own paintings and poetry."
