On the missing serial number: this is completely normal and not a sign of anything amiss — Hohner did not stamp harmonicas with date codes until 2005, when a four-digit code began appearing on the reed plates. Vintage examples like this one were never numbered, so age has to be judged from box design, printing style, mascot graphics, hardware and construction details rather than any serial mark. Probable age: The box graphics, typography, and "Hart gesotten" mascot styling are consistent with Hohner's mid-20th-century packaging (roughly 1950s–1960s), predating the plastic-combed, screw-plate versions of the same model sold from later decades onward. This should be treated as a stylistic estimate rather than a confirmed date.
