Vase - Porzellan - Japan - Fasanen-Pfingstrosen-Vase (Ohne mindestpreis)

Title: Japanese Arita Bulbous Ikebana Vase, Overglaze Polychrome Pheasant & Peony Motifs, Yazaemon Mark (弥左エ門), with Tomobako Box (共箱) Kiln: Arita ware (有田焼), Yazaemon Kiln (弥左エ門) Dimensions: H 20.8 cm (8.19in) × Max Belly Diameter 21.5 cm (8.46in) Weight: 1545 g Tomobako Box Dimensions: H 24 cm (9.45in) × W 24 cm (9.45in) × D 24 cm (9.45in) Material: High-fired white porcelain body Period: Late Shōwa to Heisei Period, approx. 1990–2000 Included: Paulownia wood tomobako box (共箱), yellow fabric wrapping cloth This bulbous polychrome vase is crafted by Yazaemon Kiln, a well-established maker of Arita ware (有田焼). Arita porcelain has been celebrated for fine white clay and overglaze polychrome painting techniques since the Edo era. With a 200-year heritage, Yazaemon Kiln specialises in classic ornate Kinrande bird-and-flower patterns. The entire vessel is hand-painted with auspicious combined motifs of pheasants, peonies, chrysanthemums and bamboo. Blue underglaze scrolling lotus (染付唐草) decorates the cartouches around the neck and base, and all decorative outlines are traced with delicate gold lines, delivering vivid, layered colour tones. The pairing of pheasant and peony symbolises wealth and prosperity in traditional Japanese culture, ideal for ikebana display and interior decoration. A vertical hand-carved Yazaemon signature appears on the base, matching the ink inscription “花瓶 弥左エ門作” on the exterior of the paulownia tomobako box. The full set including box and cloth is preserved together. First-generation Matsumoto Yazaemon was one of the representative potters of late Edo-period Arita. Seven generations of craftsmen have continued to use the “Yazaemon” kiln mark. This vase is a modern piece inheriting the classic aesthetic of traditional Imari porcelain. Natural firing texture and storage discoloration can be seen on the porcelain due to age; there are no hairline cracks, chips or restorations. The matching paulownia tomobako box shows accumulated dust, aged patina and minor wear, and the overall condition is good for its age.
