A finely executed Scottish art glass paperweight by John Deacons, featuring a classic 10-spoke concentric millefiori design set against a rich cobalt blue ground. The composition radiates from a central Scottish thistle signature cane, surrounded by a ring of complex star canes and alternating twisted latticinio spokes. Additional concentric rows of pink, blue and white millefiori canes create a harmonious floral pattern, demonstrating the precision and craftsmanship for which John Deacons is internationally recognised. The design is encased beneath a high polished clear crystal dome, enhancing the depth and brilliance of the millefiori arrangement. The base retains part of the original paper label. John Deacons is regarded as one of Scotland's leading contemporary paperweight makers. Having trained at Perthshire Paperweights before establishing his own studio, he continues the celebrated Scottish tradition of millefiori paperweight making. Very good condition. Light surface wear consistent with careful handling and age. The polished base shows minor shelf wear and retains part of the original manufacturer's paper label. No visible chips or cracks.
