An elegant and classic Japanese iron tsuba (sword guard), featuring a timeless and poetic autumn motif.

A highly prestigious and traditional four-lobed form, reminiscent of a cross-section of a melon or a bird's nest. It is one of the most popular and classic shapes for Japanese sword fittings.

This piece beautifully depicts a classic Japanese autumn scene.
Right side: Two lively deer are dynamically rendered with a striking presence.

This combination is a deeply poetic motif in Japan, famous in traditional Waka poetry and Hanafuda card imagery, symbolizing the deep romance of the autumn season.
