Suga Shoen war ein renommierter Metallkünstler, der von der Meiji- über die Showa-Ära aktiv war und dafür gefeiert wurde, die traditionelle "Verlorene-Wachs-Guss" (*rogata-chuzo*) -Technik zu bewahren und weiterzuentwickeln. Mit Sitz in Takakaoka, Toyama Prefecture—a region famed for its copperware production—eröffnet eine refined Edo-style metalworking technique and founded a lineage of master craftsmen.

This legacy was passed down to the second-generation Suga Shoen, who further honed these traditional methods. While upholding the heritage of Takaoka copperware, the second-generation master gained renown for exquisite craftsmanship and a style characterized by grace and elegance, creating numerous works that harmonized tradition with functionality. He played a pivotal role in maintaining and elevating the prestige associated with the name "Suga Shoen."
