Description: A ceramic chawan with a softly irregular profile and a gently undulating rim, decorated in Mishima style. Repeated floral motifs cover much of the exterior and continue around the inner wall beneath a pale grey-white glaze with warm brown and darker tonal variation. The rounded bowl is raised on a compact foot ring, giving the piece a balanced tea-bowl form. An impressed maker’s mark is present on the underside. The bowl is accompanied by a signed wooden tomobako, inscribed “三島手 茶碗” (Mishima-style Tea Bowl) and “与し三造” (made by Yoshizo). He trained in pottery under his father, the second generation, and his uncle, the third generation, and succeeded as the fourth generation in 1992. In 1995, he received the kiln name Kippo Kiln (吉峯窯). His work includes Kyo and Kiyomizu ware tea utensils, including chawan.
