This beautiful, heavy quality bowl from Val St. Lambert in Belgium was designed by Xavier Crespo in the 1980's. This limited edition piece is signed on the base "Val St. Lambert - 40/150". The deep amethyst colour goes by the name "Bishop's Purple" and the design of stylized flowers and diamonds, combined with the sparkling crystal, give the bowl an exceptional beauty. The bowl is blown with clear crystal, after which a layer of purple crystal is applied, which is then ground back to create the final design. This doubled crystal process was perfected by Val Saint Lambert and used extensively. Val Saint Lambert crystal has a high lead content of 33-40%, much higher than the legally required 24%. This extra lead content gives the product extra brilliance and clarity. The opening at the top of the vase measures 7 cm. diameter with an outer circumference of 15 cm. The bowl stands on a base measuring 8 cm. An exceptional bowl in a stunning colour and in MINT CONDITION! Careful packing will ensure a safe delivery. See my feedback on Catawik
