He studied under the influential printmaker Masao Ido and specializes in atmospheric landscapes of traditional Japan. His works often depict rural scenes, changing seasons, and characteristic architecture, executed in a refined, slightly impressionistic style. Sano’s prints are exhibited internationally and are held in collections in the United States, including the Library of Congress.
