RARE ! This bottle represents one of the ultimate expressions from the ghost distillery Hanyu, which definitively ceased production during its final year of distillation in 2000 before being dismantled in 2004. Rescued by Ichiro Akuto, the remaining casks from this historic vintage have yielded bottlings of absolute rarity. This highly exclusive expression was selected by La Maison du Whisky for its prestigious "Artist" series. Aged for 14 years and bottled in 2014, this single malt was drawn from single American oak Hogshead cask #957 and bottled at a natural cask strength of 59.9% abv (certainly around only 300 bottles !). The label features the minimalist artwork "Her eyebrow" by the renowned Singaporean painter Tay Bak Chiang, making this bottle a major collector's piece at the crossroads of fine art and Japanese whisky history.
