He is depicted with a highly detailed, long pointed beard and tightly curled hair. Around his head, he wears a royal diadem (or in later issues, an elaborate tall tiara decorated with a multi-rayed star and pellets). A decorative torc (torque) is clearly visible around his neck. The entire image is enclosed within a fine, circular border of dots (pellets).Incription: Anepigraphic (contains no text on this side). Reverse (Back)Description: Features Arsaces I (the dynastic founder of the Parthian Empire) seated and facing right. He wears traditional Parthian clothing, a cloak, and a bashlyk (headdress). He is holding a bow outward with both hands. On earlier versions of this coin, he sits on an omphalos (sacred stone), while on later versions, he sits on a high-backed throne.Inscription (Greek Legend): Written in a square, block-like format surrounding the archer: Translation: "Of the Great King, Arsaces, the Illustrious" or "Of the Great King of Kings, Arsaces, the Illustrious (God Manifest)".
