This tiny silver fraction belongs to the early Ionian coinage of the Persian period. Its attribution remains disputed between Phokaia and Teos: both cities used the griffin and closely related weight standards. Balcer and Matzke associate the type with Teos, while major SNG collections attributed it to Phokaia; modern catalogues therefore often retain both possibilities.
