Pair of Antique German Silver Wax Seals – circa 1910 The handles are richly ornamented with raised flowers, leaves and scrolling foliage. The combination of floral relief and flowing ornamentation gives both pieces a particularly refined Art Nouveau-period appearance. The larger wax seal has a monogram engraved on the underside of the seal, which appears to read “AG” (although “RA” cannot be completely excluded, see photographs). It is hallmarked 800 together with the German crescent moon and crown mark. The smaller seal has a vacant cartouche, allowing the future owner to have initials or a monogram engraved or simply used without any engraving. It is unmarked, but also tests as 800 silver. Both pieces are in excellent condition, with no dents, significant scratches or other notable damage.
