Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung
Elegant baluster-shaped vase decorated in polychrome cloisonné enamel on a vibrant red ground. The slender, slightly flared neck is richly decorated with colourful flowers and foliage and framed by elaborately ornamented borders.
The generously proportioned body features an intricate arrangement of flowers, leaves and various finely rendered objects, including books or scrolls, writing implements, vessels and other decorative attributes. The motifs are set against a finely executed geometric meander pattern on a red ground. Particularly striking are the rich blue, green, white, yellow and pink tones, which create a vivid contrast with the red background.
The shoulder is decorated with several ornamental bands, including a light-blue border with stylised flowers and scrolling foliage. The lower section features a broad blue-and-green ornamental band with stylised leaves and scrolling motifs. The numerous fine cloisonné wires precisely delineate the individual enamel panels, creating a highly decorative and richly detailed surface. The underside features a metal base with an age-related patina.
Height approx. 21 cm; width approx. 10 cm; opening diameter approx. 5.5 cm.
Age- and usage-related wear. The enamel surface shows minor irregularities, age-related signs of use and light areas of wear. The metal elements display a natural aged patina. Based on the photographs provided, there are no obvious major losses or signs of restoration.
Probably China, late 19th to early 20th century.
