Vase - Porzellan - Japan - Blumen‑Vogel‑Quadratvase (Ohne mindestpreis)

Item Name: Japanese Kutani‑yaki (九谷焼) Gyokusai‑zō Four‑panel Floral‑Bird Square Vase Craft: Overglaze polychrome enamel with gilding, hand‑filled colours and hand‑drawn gilded outlines Kiln: Kutani‑yaki Artist: Gyokusai (玉斎) Mark: Red base mark “Kutani Gyokusai‑zō” (九谷 玉斎造) Dimensions: approx. H 31 cm (12.2 in) × max. Dia. 27 cm (10.6 in) Weight: approx. 5400 g (11.9 lbs) Material: Porcelain body Period: Mid‑late Shōwa period (c.1960‑1980) This large, stately square vase was created by Japanese Kutani‑yaki artisan Gyokusai (玉斎). A fine hall‑display piece, it offers decorative appeal, ornamental enjoyment and collectible value. Well‑proportioned and imposing in form, it has a square mouth, square foot and full rounded body with a steady, dignified silhouette. Crafted in the traditional Kutani‑yaki overglaze polychrome and gilding technique, all motifs are hand‑filled in colour with hand‑drawn gilded outlines, presenting fine painterly depth. Cartouches run around all four sides of the body, while the neck and margins are decorated with elaborate brocade‑pattern and geometric borders, creating a rich yet well‑balanced composition. Working in unison, these four cartouches show peonies, chrysanthemums, winter‑plum and bamboo alongside flying birds and butterflies, forming one continuous, unified four‑season panorama. Vibrant, sumptuous hues are heightened by selective gilding, lending the composition liveliness and elegance and embodying the opulent, refined aesthetic of modern Kutani‑yaki. The authentic red base mark reads “Kutani Gyokusai‑zō” (九谷 玉斎造), confirming it as a work by the artist. Due to age, the glaze bears minor natural signs of time‑related glaze wear, consistent with its period. No cracks, chips or restorations. Overall condition is good relative to its age.
